How it works
From interest to certificate
Getting started is straightforward. We keep the process clear and supportive at every step.
1
Register your interest
Register at mattamfoundation.org/volunteer/apply — tell us which programme(s) you want to join, your availability, and whether you prefer paid or unpaid roles.
2
Orientation and matching
Our team contacts you within 5 business days, discusses roles, and schedules orientation.
3
Complete your work
Work with a coordinator on defined roles. Hours and compensation type (paid or unpaid) are confirmed upfront.
4
Receive your certificate
Once you reach 30 verified hours, you receive a verifiable certificate with your hours breakdown and recognition tier.
Students and first-time volunteers are welcome. No prior nonprofit experience is required — we provide the training you need.
Certificates
Verifiable volunteer certificates
Complete at least 30 verified hours of volunteer work and earn a certificate you can share with employers, colleges, and institutions.
Verified hours unlock recognition tiers with real benefits — from enhanced certificate designation to letters of recommendation and ambassador consideration.

Paid & unpaid
Paid and unpaid volunteer roles
We offer both paid and unpaid assignments depending on the role, funding, and programme needs. Your certificate shows completed hours — unpaid, paid, or both with separate totals.
Unpaid
Unpaid volunteering
You contribute your time without monetary compensation. Unpaid volunteers are contacted first when we need support for outreach, events, or urgent coordination. 100% unpaid certificates earn the Pure Service Honour.
Paid
Paid assignments
Some roles include agreed compensation — an honorarium, stipend, or role-based payment — when programme budget allows and the role requires sustained commitment.
Outreach priority: If you register as unpaid-only, you are prioritised for outreach when we need volunteers. Paid roles are offered separately when available.
Programmes
Where you can help
Select one or both programmes when you apply. Our team will discuss specific roles based on your location, languages, and availability.
Medicine Support
Help low-income families access essential medicines through our Kerala pilot. Certificate-eligible roles available.
Taluk coordinators guiding families through verification
Support seniors living alone with companionship, escorts, and local coordination. Certificate-eligible roles in our Kerala founding pilot; interest welcome as we expand.
Medical appointment escorts for seniors living alone
Welfare checks and friendly visits
Community ambassadors spreading word about medicine and senior care programmes
The Mattam George Foundation is a Section 8 company — volunteer time strengthens our ability to reach more families in need.
Whether you coordinate medicine support locally or escort seniors to appointments, your presence flows directly into free medicine support and Section 8 cost-recovery senior care as we build across India — starting in Kerala.
Our certificates show verified hours with integrity — including Pure Service Honour for those who serve entirely without compensation — and can be verified by employers on this website.
