If your request is declined

We will always explain why a request could not be approved. Common reasons include:

Eligibility not met — Household income or LIG documentation does not meet programme criteria.
Incomplete documents — LIG proof, ID, or prescription was missing or could not be verified within 14 days.
Invalid prescription — Prescription is expired, incomplete, or not from a registered medical practitioner.
Medicines not covered — Prescribed items are outside programme guidelines or formulary.
Annual limit reached — The beneficiary has reached the annual programme support limit.

Appeal within 15 days

Acute prescriptions must be dated within 30 days and cover up to 30 days of medicine. Chronic prescriptions must be dated within 90 days and cover up to 90 days. See what is covered — cosmetics, supplements without a medical reason, controlled substances, and brand medicines with a suitable generic are not covered.

4Eligibility

This programme supports households that cannot afford essential prescribed medicines. Acceptable proof includes a BPL card, an income certificate (annual household income up to ₹3,00,000), Ayushman Bharat / KASP eligibility, or another accepted government document.
