Why volunteer

Gain experience. Make a difference.

Whether you are a student building your résumé, a professional giving back, or someone with time to share — our volunteer network is designed to be approachable and rewarding.

  • Build real experience

A verifiable volunteer certificate with logged hours — valuable for students, internships, and early-career résumés.

  • Grow with recognition tiers

Earn Contributor, Distinguished, and Steward recognition as your verified hours grow — with benefits at each milestone.

  • Training and support

Orientation and role-specific guidance from the MGF programme team before you start.

  • Direct community impact

Help families access essential medicines or support seniors living alone — your time reaches people who need it.

How it works

From interest to certificate

Getting started is straightforward. We keep the process clear and supportive at every step.

  1. 1

    Register your interest

Register at mattamfoundation.org/volunteer/apply — tell us which programme(s) you want to join, your availability, and whether you prefer paid or unpaid roles.

  2. 2

    Orientation and matching

Our team contacts you within 5 business days, discusses roles, and schedules orientation.

  3. 3

    Complete your work

Work with a coordinator on defined roles. Hours and compensation type (paid or unpaid) are confirmed upfront.

  4. 4

    Receive your certificate

Once you reach 30 verified hours, you receive a verifiable certificate with your hours breakdown and recognition tier.

Students and first-time volunteers are welcome. No prior nonprofit experience is required — we provide the training you need.

How verification works

  1. 1

    Complete your assignments

Volunteer with Medicine Support, Senior Care, or both. Hours are logged as paid, unpaid, or a mix depending on each role.

  2. 2

    Coordinator sign-off

A programme coordinator verifies your hours. Once you reach 30 verified hours, you become eligible for a certificate.

  3. 3

    Share your verify link

Employers and institutions check mattamfoundation.org/volunteer/verify — no login required. Your hour breakdown and tier appear instantly.

Who uses it

  • Employers & HR

Confirm volunteer service and hour totals during hiring or background checks.

  • Colleges & internships

Document community service, NSS, or social-impact requirements on applications.

  • Institutions & references

Provide a verifiable record alongside programme letters at higher recognition tiers.

  • Scholarships & grants

Support merit, need-based, or fellowship applications with independently verifiable service hours.

Pure Service Honour

Volunteers whose entire certified record is unpaid — 100% voluntary service — receive distinguished presentation on verification.

Awarded when all verified hours on your certificate are unpaid (30 hours minimum).

Employers can verify any certificate at mattamfoundation.org/volunteer/verify. No account or login required.

Recognition

Grow with every hour you give

Verified hours unlock recognition tiers with real benefits — from enhanced certificate designation to letters of recommendation and ambassador consideration.

Paid & unpaid

Paid and unpaid volunteer roles

We offer both paid and unpaid assignments depending on the role, funding, and programme needs. Your certificate shows completed hours — unpaid, paid, or both with separate totals.

Unpaid

Unpaid volunteering

You contribute your time without monetary compensation. Unpaid volunteers are contacted first when we need support for outreach, events, or urgent coordination. 100% unpaid certificates earn the Pure Service Honour.

Paid

Paid assignments

Some roles include agreed compensation — an honorarium, stipend, or role-based payment — when programme budget allows and the role requires sustained commitment.

Outreach priority: If you register as unpaid-only, you are prioritised for outreach when we need volunteers. Paid roles are offered separately when available.
